Summer Heat
We had 53 players for our August tournament. Congrats to Jason Proctor for a long battle to first for $416 and 65 points. Susie Larrea got an instant rebate of her buy-in when she busted in 50th place.
Because we only count the top 6 tournaments, we are now to the point where most players' scores will only go up if they best a previous performance. While Phil Kays did not improve his score, he still holds 1st with 301. However, Just Lary jumps from 4th to 2nd, also with 301. Only the total knockouts separate them, 18 to 12. Steve Rennirt improves to 3rd with 300 even. Bryan Roof's score does not improve and he drops to 4th. John Kassebaum also does not increase his score and drops from 3rd to 5th. One to watch for next time is Jason Proctor, who sits at 9th with 251, but only has 5 tournaments so all of his next tournament score will add to his season score. With only 6 points separating the top 4 players, Player of the Year is far from settled.
